Caps for the Future, Bulgaria

August 3, 2023

“Caps for the Future” is a charity campaign started in 2017 made up of volunteers. In the beginning, only plastic caps were collected to recycle them and use the money to buy a cuvette or other medical equipment. These cuvettes and medical equipment are donated to one of the small municipal hospitals, which are quite often in a deplorable condition and in need of any equipment. At a later stage, aluminium cans and plastic bottles were also collected. From 2017 to 2022, 22 cuvettes have been donated in 22 cities, as well as medical equipment. In 2020, during Covid-19, Caps for the Future donated to 14 more hospitals a variety of equipment such as thermal beds, vital signs monitors, perfusers, respirators, etc. Between 2021 and 2022, with the funds raised from the national plastic cap and can collection and recycling campaigns, Caps for the Future was able to donate 4 neonatal ambulances and 1 off-road mountain ambulance.
