Volunteer teams at the volunteer kitchen for the poor people during Covid-19, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria
The kitchen was one of the first places in Blagoevgrad where Ukrainian refugees – mothers, children and elderly people – arrived. Volunteer teams reorganized themselves to provide hot meals every day of the week. The kitchen was re-equipped for this activity. It now has the capacity to assist people in emergency situations. During Covid 19, the volunteer kitchen limited its activities to just two months in 2020, after which it quickly reorganized for crisis work. Contact between those in need and volunteers was limited, and safety measures were strengthened and are still being followed.
