The Tourism Day for people with disabilities was held in Orfű for the first time in 2017. The main goal of the all-day cheerful festival is to bring people with disabilities to experiences that they would otherwise not have, or would have difficulty experiencing. The success of the previous events is proven by the fact that guests came from all over the country, each time about 700 showed up on the island of Orfű. Each year, around 30 volunteers help with the event’s administrative activities, lunch distribution, and experience programs, and they provide support for the participation of people with disabilities in the programs (lifting them into boats, helping horses, getting into cars, motorbikes, and horse-drawn carriages). The event was held every year during the COVID epidemic in 2020 and 2021.
