A team of volunteers prepared food for 220 people in need at the Voluntary Kitchen for the Poor People at St. Nikolas Church in the “Gramada” district of Blagoevgrad. For seven years – since December 2016 volunteers have been preparing and distributing food every Saturday. Six teams are organized and work according to a schedule. There are 95 active volunteers, of different ages and professions. The kitchen operates thanks to the support of donors and the church board of the temple. Since 2023, the kitchen is part of the Parish Centre, which aims to implement community support for the needy, and organizes courses for them, excursions, hikes, celebrations, etc.
